This is my latest project! My friend Eve created this new project called the Tri-City 2011 MVP Cyphers and asked me to jump on as the video editor! Basically this project contains people from West Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade Counties that came together and freestyle about anything and everything. This project definitely shows the lyrically creativity of these guys and I’m glad I had the opportunity to worked on this project. Check it out!
This is my first official time-lapse of the Miami skyline! I was shooting the skyline across the bay by the MacArthur Causeway. This time lapse was created by using 5 second intervals on the Shoot Timer Remote. All together it took 598 photos to complete this time-lapse and almost 2 hours!
I have always admired time lapse videos! I think it is one of the coolest effects you can do and I really love watching them. I wanna start doing my own time lapse videos so I looked at random videos on youtube to kinda get an idea of what to do and I came across the video above! That video is incredible. It is very well put together with the editing and music! I plan on doing a lot of my own time lapse videos soon. I’m going to Vegas next month and I will definitely be doing one while I’m there as well as other photos! The way I used to do time lapse videos never looked right. I used to lock down my Panasonic DVX 100B video camera on a tripod, press record and let it run for a while and then take it into Final Cut and speed it up. That way kinda works but it definitely doesn’t work if you’re trying to do a sunrise/sunset or an extended period of time! With a DSLR it’s so much easier and it actually works! I’ll post up my own time lapse videos when they’re created!
How crazy is it that DSLR’s can record full 1080p High Definition Video these days? The best part about it is that you have the option of using different lenses to create beautiful looking depth of field (background out of focus) which really makes your videos look like film! So once I found out about this technology I knew I had to get one. I’ve always liked photography but never thought I would end up doing it on a professional level. I was always all about video but these days I’m about both! I really love photography now. I have a Canon Rebel T2i HDSLR with an 18-55mm lens and a 55-250mm lens! If you’re just starting out in photography like myself the Canon Rebel T2i is a great camera. It’s fairly easy to use but you might wanna watch a few youtube videos on photography to understand the basics. I’m picking up on photography pretty quickly because of my background with video. I’ve photographed many random spots around South Beach and Downtown Miami and I just did my first photo shoot with a father and a son! I’m heading to New York City next week to capture some amazing photos which I’ll post up when I return! I will also be using this camera to shoot HD Music Videos that will look like they were shot on a $100,000 film camera! We used two HDSLR’s to shoot my last film “Tech Support” on and it came out amazing! It’s really hard to tell the difference between HDSLR footage and 35mm film footage when looking at the image! If you’re looking to have pictures taken or shoot a Music Video you can view examples of my work on my website @ http://www.GaryDunkel.com and contact me when you’re ready!

“:Prefer Not To Say” is a short comedic film about the trials and tribulations of online dating and how three roommates use it to their advantage. Tonight we have finally completed the first draft of the screenplay! My co-writer Jordan Wapner and I came up with the idea to write a film about online dating in June of 2010. We immediately began writing the script in July once we had perfected our basic idea. I must say so far I’m really happy with what we have written. I truly believe that this is genius comedy here. I’m super excited for this project and I really believe that this is going to be a hilarious film when it’s finished! It has taken us 6 months to write this script but I enjoyed every minute of it! It will only be more fun from here on! As always, I’ll keep everyone posted with the progress of this film!
